Eid Mubarak to everyone!
Now that Ramadan & Eid is over, its back to the normal grind, sighs! :(
Are any of you planning on keeping the 6 fast of Shawal? I am, inshAllah.
Although these fast are not wajib (mandatory) they are highly recommended as they hold immense reward and virtue. You get rewarded as if you fasted the whole year! Who ain't down for that?!
Here is a quick hadith concerning the fast of shawal:
Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadhan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime." [Narrated by Muslim, Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nisa'i and Ibn Majah]
woo-hoo! a lifetime! ^_^
I also have a bonus reward tip: If you intend on keeping these fast, keep them on a Monday & Thursday as these days are Sunnah fast! You get double the reward because Allah is just that merciful inshAllah!
