City Chic in FAUX

Since we've said our official farewell to summer, it's safe (at least in my opinion) to rock one of my favorite wardrobe essential - faux LEATHER pants!
When 'leather' pants first became a trend, I must admit I was taken aback and was quick to considered them too 'rocker' for my everyday style.. but I'm glad that changed because once I gave them a chance, let's just say, it became my go-to option all winter!

What I'm wearing: Waterfall Cardi - Missy Empire  Faux Leather Pants - I like these & these Shoes - identical style here  Bag - Givenchy but good option here Shades - Dior Technologic similar here Scarf - Cover33

LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls
I snagged a few pieces from her collection and you can too! The entire collection is availble online, exclusively at Kohls!
Tory Burch
Reem Acra
Loved Reems collection - takes me straight back to my roots as it reminds me so much of South Asian and Middle Eastern influences. Loves!

My goodness, I can't put into words how much I loved this entire collection. Sometimes I just like to be drenched in black and for those days, this collection manifest!

NYFW Spring/Summer 2016

Happy Monday, everyone!

As many of you may (and may not) know, New York Fashion Week kick started this past weekend bringing in thousands of designers and people alike to New York. Although I didn't get a chance to attend, I'm going to share some of my favorites that strutted the runways!
I've done a similar blogpost in the past but if you're new to "fashion week" here is some quick information to get your familiarized with the whole concept:

What is fashion week?

New York Fashion Week, held in February and September of each year, is a semi-annual series of events (generally lasting 7–9 days) when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press and the general public. It is one of four major fashion weeks in the world, collectively known as the "Big 4," along with those in ParisLondon and Milan.[1][2]

When is fashion week?

In actuality, the "big 4" fashion weeks that take place twice a year starting in this order: New York, London, Milan, and Paris. They take place in February & September.

What collections are previewed?
You may have noticed the opposite of the season is often previewed. The reason being "Fashion Week is always a preview of styles to come" therefore, the shows in Feb/March are showing you the styles for the upcoming winter and the shows in Sept/Oct are showing you the styles for the upcoming Spring.

Is the 'Runway' collection what you'll see in stores?

Nope! Think of it this way, the runway is basically a designers form of artistic expression so naturally, everything will be a lot more exaggerated and dramatic compared to what actually ends up in the stores.

Now that we've got the important stuff squared away, lets jump into my favorites from this weekend!

Trending: Waistcoats!

Peace be upon you all!
I'm really feeling this 'waist coat' or what we better know as, 'vest' trend that is happening right for two main reasons:
1) It adds instant structure and sophistication to a basic outfit
2) The purpose of the 'waist coat' is to be long so it's a perfect trendy piece that can compliment a modest wardrobe

What I'm wearing: Waist Coat: Forever21 but I also like this, and this. Black under-top: Love Culture but similar here. Shoes: Aldo but love these here, super affordable ones here. Bag: Givenchy Hijab: New Cover33 collection

I'm excited to rock more of these throughout Fall!
Tell me what you think, yay or nay?
