NYFW Spring/Summer 2016

Happy Monday, everyone!

As many of you may (and may not) know, New York Fashion Week kick started this past weekend bringing in thousands of designers and people alike to New York. Although I didn't get a chance to attend, I'm going to share some of my favorites that strutted the runways!
I've done a similar blogpost in the past but if you're new to "fashion week" here is some quick information to get your familiarized with the whole concept:

What is fashion week?

New York Fashion Week, held in February and September of each year, is a semi-annual series of events (generally lasting 7–9 days) when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press and the general public. It is one of four major fashion weeks in the world, collectively known as the "Big 4," along with those in ParisLondon and Milan.[1][2]

When is fashion week?

In actuality, the "big 4" fashion weeks that take place twice a year starting in this order: New York, London, Milan, and Paris. They take place in February & September.

What collections are previewed?
You may have noticed the opposite of the season is often previewed. The reason being "Fashion Week is always a preview of styles to come" therefore, the shows in Feb/March are showing you the styles for the upcoming winter and the shows in Sept/Oct are showing you the styles for the upcoming Spring.

Is the 'Runway' collection what you'll see in stores?

Nope! Think of it this way, the runway is basically a designers form of artistic expression so naturally, everything will be a lot more exaggerated and dramatic compared to what actually ends up in the stores.

Now that we've got the important stuff squared away, lets jump into my favorites from this weekend!
