Send me a prayer, I am the oppressed.

As you can tell from the title, this post is not aimed at Fashion/Beauty.
Please take a minute to read this post and God willing, send a prayer to every sufferer on Earth- regardless of their race, religion, or gender.
This post is primarily referring to the disheartening situation that has seized Syria and Egypt.
Hearing about atrocity overcoming Islamic countries has almost become the norm, especially for the Muslims. We almost have a insouciant response now, caring the least to take heed to what is being shown over the media and articles because its only normal. It makes me wonder, how cheap has Muslim blood become? How blind have we become?
A lot of people ask, what can we do? How much can we pray? But no, Dua is certainly the lethal weapon of the Believer. No catastrophe should deter us a single degree from the course of supplicating. Stay firm and pray for your brothers and your sisters who only dream of what you and I have: freedom.
Don't ever forget, nothing comes between the supplication of the oppressed and his lord. The Prophet (saw) told us:
"Be afraid, from the curse of the oppressed as there is no barrier between his invocation and Allah." [Bukhari]
Again the Prophet tells us:
"Three Duas are such in which there is no doubt of their acceptance: 1) Father’s Dua 2) Traveler’s Dua 3) Dua of the oppressed”. [Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah]
I sincerely ask you to take a moment and pray for those who suffer at the hands of injustice.

Allahumma aghfir lana, wa lil mu'miniia, wal-mu'minaati, wa aslih-hum, wa salih dhati bayynihim, wa allif baina quluubihim, waj'al fi quluubi-himul imaana wal hikmata, wa-nsurhum 'ala' 'aduw-wika wa 'aduwwihim
O Allah!  Forgive us, and the believing men and women, and remove their faults, and cause peace and love among their hearts, and infuse into their hearts a firm faith and wisdom, and let them be victorious over Your enemies and their enemies.
United we stand, divided we fall.

Drugstore vs High End!

I can sometimes be a frugal shopper! Meaning, I like fancy things but if I find a deal, I'm all over that!
Buying high end cosmetics overtime does add up, admit it, it gets expensive!
So why splurge when you can steal?!
All of these products can be found at local drug stores!
Revlon Color Stay vs Mac Studio Fix
e.l.f Studio Contouring Blush/Bronzer vs Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo
Maybelline Color Tattoo in shade 'Barley Branded' vs Mac Paint Pot in 'Bare Study'
I have a few more dupes that I personally love but I'll save that for a future post!
Do you guys know of any dupes, I'd love to try them out!

Eyeliner how to!

Hi Guys!
I always get asked about my liner (I'm crazy about it!) so I've created an eyeliner pictorial to show you how I apply my liner.
When they say "practice makes perfect" it 100% applies here! You've just got to play around with it, trial and error baby!
Products used:
Mac Brush in #209
Maybelline Clean Express Makeup remover
Cotton Swab with pointed end
I always prefer to use gel liner because the consistency makes it easier to achieve various styles (yes there is style in liner too ^_^). Gel liner also dries super matte and I love that.
Steps 1-4 are labeled on the above picture:
1) Dip your brush (any fine tip brush) into the gel.
2) Starting at the end of your eye, create a horizontal V shape. This will be the wing.
3) Start in the inner corner of your eye & draw a line all the way to the wing.
4) Connect the line and shade in the V section. Pick up more product as necessary. I usually go over once more when I am done.
5) Clean up any mistakes with an eye makeup remover. A pointed q-tip allows greater control for precise cleanup
HATE when people apply a bunch of liner with no mascara! Its the biggest makeup crime ever! At least in my opinion hehe
Mascara often masks any imperfection in the liner so pleaseeeeee don't forget mascara, after all what's the point without it?!
and tadaaaa, you're done!
Easy a'int it ;)
Try it out!

How to rock Palazzo's!

In my previous post, I mentioned the 70s palazzo trend which is causing fashion waves all around the world!
Palazzo pants are super easy to wear. I'm much more comfortable to the idea of pants vs skirts so my absolute favorite thing about them is they create an "illusion" of a maxi skirt whilst keeping the freedom of pants intact! Score!
This is a must-try style trend this season so if you want to know how you can make this look work for you, keep reading!
 1) Wear the pants with a fitted top tucked in. For petite ladies, this will also make you look taller!
2) Opt for a pair that sits slightly higher on your waist. This will aid in creating that perfect silhouette and a smaller waist ;).
3) Balance a bold print with a neutral top. Since palazzo's are already bottom heavy, balancing is the key!
additional tips:
The ideal palazzo pant should graze the floor in heels so opt for a lengthy pair.
If you’re looking for elegance and sophistication, opt for pastel or nude tones.
Palazzos are bottom-heavy since they create that "flare" so ensure the top you’re wearing fits you well.
When in doubt, simply style your palazzo's like a maxi skirt! The possibilities are endless!
Many stores have been carrying these pants but here are links to a few palazzo pants I found on the web:
good luck!

Eid Mubarak to everyone!
Now that Ramadan & Eid is over, its back to the normal grind, sighs! :(
Are any of you planning on keeping the 6 fast of Shawal? I am, inshAllah.
Although these fast are not wajib (mandatory) they are highly recommended as they hold immense reward and virtue. You get rewarded as if you fasted the whole year! Who ain't down for that?!
Here is a quick hadith concerning the fast of shawal:
Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadhan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime." [Narrated by Muslim, Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nisa'i and Ibn Majah]
woo-hoo! a lifetime! ^_^
I also have a bonus reward tip: If you intend on keeping these fast, keep them on a Monday & Thursday as these days are Sunnah fast! You get double the reward because Allah is just that merciful inshAllah!
Okay now moving on to my printed pants...

Outfit Details:
Top- Love Culture
Pants- Sasha
Hijab- Unique Hijabs (perfect maxi scarf! I love itttt!)
Palazzo pants are so hot right now, not only in western fashion but also in Pakistani fashion!
And guess what? They're so super modest! This is exactly what I aim for every single time I dress: modest & trendy and this trend accomplishes just that ;)!
Anyone else digging this trend?

Salaam Beautiful readers!
I hope everyone reaped the maximum benefits from this beautiful month and Allah has forgiven us all for our past and future sins iA!Although I'm sooo sad Ramadan has departed, I am also excited for Eid and its festive! I love doing the FULL on eid- buying presents for my siblings, having a get together with family and friends, course, attending the Eid prayer, and of course decking out! Its such a joyful holiday and I wish all of you nothing but happiness and blessings during the day of Eid! <3

I wanted to put together a quick outfit inspiration! Being "Desi" (Pakistani/Indian), we usually wear our traditional clothes- not that this is easy! Finding traditional clothes can sometimes be the biggest hassle and worry in the world, gah! >_<. But for those of you who don't opt for traditional attire, I've put together something I  believe is perfectly  Eid appropriate!

Forever New embellished tee
$36 - forevernew.com.au

River island
$54 - riverisland.com

Dorothy Perkins wedge sandals

St John st john

Sash belt
$46 - mango.com

Since Eid can be celebrated for three days, I am going to wear something similar to the ensemble created above  on the second day inshAllah! You can find a similar green maxi skirt here.

For those of you on Instagram, be sure to tag your Eid outfits to #EidStyle. I am taking part in the FashionFightingFamine campaign which showcases Eid celebrations across the world through the lens of Fashion! I will be sharing my style on my Instagram and blog, so stay tuned!
