Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and having a good time relaxing with family and friends! I took somewhat of a "virtual" break and I haven't touched my laptop since Christmas! I'm not gonna lie - it felt pretty darn good to be away from certain things that consume us as a whole and our time!
We usually go to Pakistan around this time every year (my husbands parents reside in Karachi) but plans didn't go as planned so we've just been making the most of it in Houston!
Anyway - the brand Sanzaa had reached out to me and I fell in love with their dusters. Here I am rocking the 'grey duster jacket' and seeing how COLD it's been in Houston, this was a perfect wardrobe essential for this winter. It kept me so warm and it fit me so nicely!! Not to mention how modest this is - it’s one of those perfect things you can always throw on top for a bit more coverage. While I’m at it, I must also comment on the overall quality of the duster - it’s superb. I’ve noticed quality is starting to lack in a lot of mainstream shops esp forever21 (noticing in Zara, too!) type of clothes so it’s good to appreciate a quality item when you see it! For reference, I'm wearing a small.
Anyway if I don't publish a post before the New Year I wish you all a very happy one and I pray 2018 brings immense amount of prosperity, goodness, and blessing for every single one of you! Thank you for always showing me so much love through my blog and shoutout to the day ones who have been following my blog since 2013! It's crazy to think we will be walking into 2018 in a couple days.
I was in Chicago this past weekend to visit my Nani (grandma!) and it started snowing very lightly so I ran out and had my brother take some pictures! You can barley see any snow but you can see my big ass smile LOL - poor Texans, we'll take any amount of snow I tell ya!
I got so many questions about my sweater and I had posted the link on my InstaStory - it was from Nordstrom! I wanted to link it here as well but to my surprise, it actually sold out!
Today's post is going to be dedicated to SWEATERS! I've been in loveeee with cozy sweaters this winter, I keep finding myself in a sweater day after day. They're just so cozy, cute yet casual, and just so easy to lounge around in. I'm all about that life at the moment, I seriously can't be bothered right now to do anything more. I've rounded up a couple of my favorite ones that I personally purchased myself and I'll leave you with a few pics!
Last weekend I posted a couple pics on my InstaStory from our lunch and a lot of you messaged me asking me about Isa's stroller! I kid you not, this stroller gets so many compliments, people stop me all the time to say how much they love it! I guess the rose gold adds to that department of compliments, lol! I did a full review of my Mama's&Papa's Urbo2 Stroller here so make sure you check it out if you're interested in getting this stroller or if you're just interested in knowing my opinion on it!
If you want my honest review, I'm still swooning over this stroller - and I've been using it consecutively since the day Isa was born and he is almost 15 months now, mA! My opinion hasn't wavered one bit - I still stand behind everything I said in my review close to 7 months ago!
What I still consider so important is how I can maneuver so easily around in this baby because you know how it is with kids - you're always on the go - and this stroller is seriously so fast and strolls so well! It has such a smooth stroll, I really feel like Isa enjoys it as much as I do! We started this funny little night routine where he ONLY wants me to put him to sleep by strolling him around in it, so now every night, I'm makin several rounds around my house with a baby in tow! lol!
Here are a couple pics we shot right before sunset, hope you love them!
I was going through my memory card and found all these cute birthday pictures one of my siblings had shot during the party and I figured I'd share it with you all!
Since we had done an Aqeeqah (an Islamic celebration for welcoming the baby into the world) I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a big birthday for Isa. Well, I lied, I was dying to do one but Shahbaz wasn't convinced. As time went on, I realized the 1st birthday will be the most memorable especially since he's my first baby and finally convinced Shahbaz into doing a party! I mean of course Isa had no clue to what was going on - but I'm so glad we decided to go with it. I picked the Pumpkin Patch as the destination for his party and with the help of my talented sister, it turned out so cute!! :)
I'm excited to finally share I teamed up with DSW this Holiday Season to part-take in their 'No Wrong Way to Holiday' campaign!
After Eid (of course), Thanksgiving is one of my favorite American holidays! Like many of us Americans, I literally look forward to the Thanksgiving day feast - its my most favorite feasts out of the entire year lol.
Aside from the food, honestly, there is so so so so so much to be thankful for, I simply cannot put it into words. Sometimes in the midst of things, its hard to take a pause and be thankful and show gratitude to God and all the good things around you. I know I find myself more often than not chasing after things I truly don't even need. I feel like sometimes being thankful takes a lot of self reflection and thought - it's the norm to want more, and more, and just more.
Given the sad situations around the world, I truly believe we are all so blessed, in so many small ways. And may we always show God and those around us that gratitude and not take a single day or thing for granted.
Sorry guys - so much has been going on around the world, I feel guilty sometimes being so into my own bubble. :( sighs....
Anyway on a lighter note, here are the pictures we took before our family Thanksgiving dinner, I hope you guys enjoy them as much as we did taking them!
Lastly, shutout to my virtual fam - I'm most thankful for you - all of my readers who've been on this journey with me since the past 5 years. Thank you for always coming back being a huge part of my virtual life, I love you guys!!!
I've been so obsessed with wearing simple cardigans and a tank this fall. I'm honestly in such a go-mode as of late, especially since Isa is in full toddler, running around, touching everything, and exploring mode - that I really can't stand the idea of not being comfortable. My day consists of so much bending, sitting, leaning, giving comfort priority right now!
My sisters were making fun of me that I'm so boring in my style lately - lol do you guys agree?!!?!
Anyway, leaving you guys with some pics, talk soon!
Fall brings forth such warm, cozy colors! I'm obsessed with this 'rust' color for fall - it reminds me so much of those transitioning leaves and the sweet aroma of cinnamon and apple cider!
I'm literally counting down days till Thanksgiving - the feast, the gathering, the holiday cheer, ahhh, it's one of my most favorite holidays after Eid and I'm excited Isa will be more aware of it this year! (He was hardly 7 weeks this time last year, awwww!!!)
Anyway, this top is from Nordstrom but it sold out of this color! Not to worry, I've linked similar and more affordable options under the price point of $30 below!
Happy Friday! Today's post is sponsored by Sperry and I am featuring their new "Saltwater Wedge Tide" shoes worn below! These are great for winter, especially areas that get intense amount of snow. My husband and I are planning a trip to Canada next month (November) so I'm really excited to get good use out of these then!
Those of you who live in cooler climates, do you find it necessary to wear proper shoes or can you just wing it with any normal boots? These were lined inside so my feet felt so comfy, I'm sure I'd appreciate that more in the cold!
